Position Description

Are you interested in live theatre, art exhibitions, and other arts & culture events? Do you have a knack for customer service? Join us at The ARTS Project as an Event Assistant!

The ARTS Project typically houses an average of four arts & culture events each week, featuring everything from Shakespeare to contemporary theatre, art exhibitions, poetry readings, concerts, dance recitals, artist talks, and so much more. Event Assistants are the foundation of these events. They engage in activities such as greeting visitors, collecting tickets, distributing programs, assisting with setup, and acting as a helpful presence. Event Assistants are friendly, service-oriented and have great attention to detail. They commit to at least one 3-hour shift per month on an ongoing basis.

In this role, there is the opportunity to mingle with artists in the community and view the art that is on display. As an added perk, if an event in our theatre is not sold out, Event Assistants have the opportunity to watch it for free.

These volunteer opportunities are suitable for ages 16 and over. Many events take place during the evening (e.g. 7:00 - 10:30 PM) so reliable transportation to and from The ARTS Project is also a key consideration.

If you are interested in applying, please forward a resume or more information about your interest in volunteering, in addition to a general overview of your availability. From there we will set up a brief interview. Please forward your information to Volunteer Coordinator, Chris White, at info@artsproject.ca.

Thank you for your interest!
